GCJ: Global citizen’s journey Global Citizen Journey (GCJ) a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) base in the US, in partnership with Niger Delta Professional for Development brought 19 Americans and 21 Nigerians from diverse geo-political zones of Nigeria as grass root citizens diplomat into Oporoza, Delta State in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria for the first time for a residential experience, have constructed and launched regional use of the Niger Delta Friendship Library. The concept of Citizen Diplomacy emerged from the recognition that sustainable peacemaking grows from grassroots relationship-building between citizens. The Journey to Niger Delta provided an opportunity to promote safety, health and well being, as well as environmental excellence, thus fostering healthy communities.
